Answer: (D) J, R

Explanation

Row 1 facing South from left to right consists of J, P, O, N, K, M, L, making J and L the extreme end occupants. Row 2 facing North consists of W, V, S, T, U, X, R, making W and R the extreme end occupants. The pair J and R consists entirely of persons sitting at the extreme ends.

103Reasoning Ability
In each question below some statements are given followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts. Statements: Only a few retro is power Some power is fight No fight is risky Conclusions: I. Some retro being fight is a possibility II. No power is risky

Answer: (A) If only conclusion I follows

Explanation

Since there is no negative relationship established between retro and fight, it is entirely possible for some retro to be fight, so conclusion I logically follows. However, only the portion of power that overlaps with fight cannot be risky, leaving open the possibility that other portions of power may or may not be risky, so a definite negative statement in conclusion II does not follow.

Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts. Statements: Only a few grey is work All work is good No good is food Conclusions: I. All work being food is a possibility II. No grey is food

Answer: (D) If neither conclusion I nor II follows

Explanation

Since all work is good and no good is food, no work can ever be food, making it impossible for all work to be food, so conclusion I does not follow. Additionally, while the portion of grey that is work cannot be food, the remaining portion of grey has no negative relation with food, so a definite statement that no grey is food cannot be concluded.

Statements: Some regulate is order All order is declare Some declare is segment Conclusions: I. Some regulate is declare II. No order is segment

Answer: (A) If only conclusion I follows

Explanation

Since some regulate is order and all order is declare, the portion of regulate that is order must also be declare, making conclusion I definitely true. Regarding conclusion II, there is no direct negative relation between order and segment, so a universal negative assertion does not follow.
